MHS art students chosen for Salina art show

Art work by five Marion High School students currently is competing in the 11th annual Gerry Neustrom Young Artist Challenge at Salina Central Mall.

Amy Goering, Hannah Eis, Megan Whitaker, Yoon Lee, and Nikki Moody were chosen by a panel of judges to be in the exhibit.

Goering has a photograph, pencil drawing, and an ink drawling at the show. Eis and Lee have digital photographs, Whitaker a photograph, and Moody a marker drawing in the exhibit.

The event is a jurored art competition for high school students living in 44 Kansas counties competing for $500 in merit awards.

The artwork will be on display from 1 to 5 p.m. April 18 with a closing reception from 3 to 5 p.m.

The event is sponsored by Salina Art Center.
