MHS, Centre bands to participate in KSU Band Day
Bands from Marion High School and Centre Junior-Senior High School at Lost Springs will be among those joining the Kansas State University Marching Band Saturday for K-State Band Day activities.
Frank Tracz, director of KSU bands, said Band Day will start at 9 a.m. Saturday with a parade through Aggieville and downtown Manhattan. The parade route begins on North Manhattan Avenue near Aggieville, heads east on Moro to 11th Street, south to Poyntz Avenue, then east to the Manhattan Town Center.
Another highlight will be the halftime show at the K-State vs. Massachusetts football game at KSU Stadium. The performance by the massed bands will include "Flip, Flop & Fly," "Soul Bossa Nova," "Shout It Out," "Wildcat Victory," and the "1812" overture. The bands also will perform "God Bless America."
