MHS forensics squad brings home first place finishes
Marion High School forensics team recently came home with first place honors from two different tournaments.
The squad came in first Saturday in a field of 18 schools during the Council Grove Tournament. Earlier on Jan. 31, the squad took first among 10 schools during a tournament at Northern Heights.
Following are the competition categories and individual rankings from each tournament:

Solo serious: first, Joe Svitak; second, Tim Schuler.
Duet acting: first, Megan Whitaker and Joe Svitak; third, Trevor Jones and Michael Brookens.
Prose: second, Briana Vogel.
Poetry: fourth, Michelle Miesse.
Improvised duet acting: second, Tim Schuler and Briana Vogel.
Oration: second, Rachel Davidson.
