MHS forensics team brings home firsts
Marion High School forensics team brought home their fifth first place trophy for the season Monday night from the Hillsboro Invitational Forensics Tournament.
The MHS squad is now five for five in terms of first place finishes.
Seventeen teams participated in the event.
MHS students medaling were:
Solo humorous — Chelsea Arnhold, first; Trevor Jones, second; Derek Vetter, fifth; Whitney Wear, sixth.
Solo serious — Laura Holt, third; Michelle Miesse, fourth.
Prose — Brett Billings, first.
Duet acting — Michael Brookens and Trevor Jones, first; Elisa Gayle and Jordan Timm, fourth.
Impromptu duet acting — Chelsea Arnhold and Tedra Eis, first; Elisa Gayle and Jordan Timm, second; and T.C. Edwards and Brett Billings, sixth.
Chase County
MHS students also took home first place honors Saturday from the Chase County Invitational Tournament.

Duet acting — Gayle and Timm, second.
Prose — Billings, first.
Poetry — Misti Richmond, second.
Oration — Isaac Guetersloh, fifth; Katie Whitaker, sixth.
Informative speaking — Edwards, sixth; Anna Krich, fourth.
Impromptu duet acting — Edwards and Billings, fifth; Gayle and Timm, fourth; Lee Ownbey and Guetersloh, third; and Luke Bowers and Vetter, first.
The next outing for the MHS forensics team is March 5 at Peabody.
