MHS girls fall to Sacred Heart
Marion High School girls' basketball team was defeated in its final two games in December, losing to Hope Dec. 18 and to Sacred Heart Dec. 20.
Krista Zogelman scored nine points to lead Marion in the 33-59 effort against Hope. The Lions out-shot and out-rebounded Marion, and had 13 turnovers to 35 by the Warriors.
Zogelman was leading scorer against Cottonwood Valley League foe Sacred Heart, scoring 19 points including two three-point shots.
Brandi Peterie was in double figures with 10.
Sacred Heart went 20 of 30 from the line. Marion hit four of nine.
The junior varsity defeated Hope 36-17, led by Megan Moore with 11. Emmy Bowers was leading scorer with eight in the 25-34 loss to Sacred Heart.
