MHS Key Club earns second place trophy
Five members of the Marion High School Key Club and adviser Roger Schwab attended the state convention in Manhattan. Chris Edwards and her daughter, Danae, also attended the event.
The Marion club participated in the annual scrapbook contest and brought home the second-place trophy on the state level.
The club kept a photo record of activities and compiled it into a scrapbook using the theme, "The Little Club That Could." Entries were judged on service to school and community, assistance to the local Kiwanis club, and involvement in a major program.
This was the first time the club had an entry in the contest.
The Marion club also placed an entry for the single service award, but did not place at the state level.
Students also attended workshops during the weekend to gain information about ways the club could contribute to the community.
Those attending were Kylie Hardey, chapter president; Misti Richmond, chapter vice president; Lena O'Connor, Farai Mukwindidza, and Jeremy Vondenkamp.
