MHS students inducted into honor society
The annual induction ceremony for Marion High School chapter of National Honor Society was held March 25 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. The banquet was catered by Donna Kreutziger and the Eastmoor United Methodist Women. A candlelight ceremony followed the meal.
New members inducted are Karson Craig, Sarah Davidson, Brandi Peterie-Shipman, Chelsea Arnhold, Kendra Holub, Whitney Wear, Sarah Williams, and Katie Zogelman. The MHS chapter, advised by Diana Costello, currently has 41 members.
To be eligible for membership students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.65 or above. Members also must meet high standards of leadership, service, and character. Members are evaluated by a faculty council.
Every year the MHS chapter sponsors a community service day. Everyone in the high school goes out into the community to make it look nice for Old Settlers' Day. This year the chapter did another service to the community with annual cookie dough sales money earned being donated to the Marion County EMS and Marion and Florence fire departments.
