MHS students present 'Annie Get Your Gun'

"Annie Get Your Gun" is a western-themed play based on the true story of Annie Oakley.
Marion High School students will perform the musical at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Marion Municipal Auditorium.
"Good family entertainment," describes Janet Killough, teacher at MHS as well as this year's musical director. She went on to add those who attend also will enjoy "good plain fun."
"Cast and crew have worked on this performance since the end of September," said junior Timothy Schuler.
The cast includes 33 Marion High School students, and countless crew members who work backstage. Killough emphasized the hard work she and her students have put into this year's performance. She asked only for an appreciative audience in return.
When asked about dedicating hours to rehearsals, Megan Whitaker, junior, said it has been "very tiring." Whitaker estimated the crew has been practicing for four to five hours a night.
"Oh God. Lord save us!" said Patrick Becker, sophomore. Becker went on to describe the crew's fatigue by adding, "Run 10 miles, do 52 push-ups, and you'd still have no idea."
Whitaker hopes the public comes to see the "really, really talented" cast.
"It's free. There's no reason in the world not to come and see it," Killough concluded.
"It's a great show. It deserves to be seen," said Schuler. "It's for them. If they don't come, it's a waste."
