MHS volleyball: Victories over Trinity start winning streak
After an indifferent beginning to the season, Marion High School volleyball team went on a seven-match winning streak.
They won the Centre tournament Saturday (see separate story). They defeated Trinity Academy Sept. 10 at home.
Against Trinity, the Warriors won the first match by the score of 15-7, 10-15, 15-9, and the second match 15-7, 7-15, 15-5.
In the first match, Marion was strong in the first and third games, but fell behind 3-8 in the second. They were able to take a 10-8 lead before Trinity went on a run to take the game.
The second match was much the same. In the second game of the match, Trinity was up 10 points before Marion scored.
The season started rough for Marion at Inman. They lost to Sedgwick 15-17, 11-15; defeated Fairfield 15-4, 15-7; and lost to Remington 16-14, 10-15, 3-15.
