Miss Kansas to visit Centre Elementary
Students at Centre Elementary School at Lost Springs will participate in various activities next week to celebrate Red Ribbon Week.
The highlight of the week will be an appearance at 10:30 a.m. Monday by the reigning Miss Kansas, Angelea Busby of Lenexa.
A student at the University of Kansas, she is majoring in communications. Parents and patrons are welcome to attend her presentation.
Also on Monday, students will make pictures of "101 Things to Do Instead of Drugs," which will be hung on hallway walls.
Students will wear interesting hats to school on Tuesday to demonstrate the need to "Put a Cap on Drugs."
In an effort to portray a "Team Up Against Drugs" theme on Wednesday, students will wear their favorite team's colors or logos.
On Thursday, they will wear sweat clothes to school to illustrate that "Living Drug Free is No Sweat."
Friday is Red Day, when students are encouraged to wear as much red as possible.
