Missing woman is located
Hillsboro Police Department announced Tuesday a woman missing from her Hillsboro home had been located. It appears she voluntarily left the Hillsboro area.
Delores Johnson, 47, 114 S. Cedar, Hillsboro, had been missing since 6:30 a.m. Monday.
According to Ken Johnson, the woman's husband, the couple walked out the door of their home at 6:30 a.m. They both were going to work at Hillsboro Community Medical Center, seven blocks from their home.
Ken Johnson got in his car and left while his wife walked to the backyard to feed the family dog.
When Delores did not show up for work, Ken called police.
Dan Kinning, Hillsboro chief of police, was concerned.
"We didn't know if she was taken or was missing voluntarily," said Kinning. "Contact has been made with her and we believe she voluntarily left for personal reasons. We are attempting to locate her in the area we believe she's in. We want to make contact with her to make sure everything is OK," added Kinning.
Kinning did not divulge Johnson's location, other than she was located out-of-state.
According to Kinning, Delores Johnson's cell phone was being tracked and officials knew her cell phone was on throughout the ordeal.
On Monday, an aerial search in the Hillsboro area was conducted by a local pilot who volunteered his services.
Delores Johnson also is a crew captain for Hillsboro EMS and was not responding to her EMS or hospital pager.
"Delores is known in the community and is considered a very responsible person," said Kinning. "It is very unlike her to leave without notifying anyone."
Johnson was driving a family vehicle at the time of her disappearance.
