Missions festival is next week at Eastmoor

Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion, will host both laymen and missionary speakers at the Missions Festival the weekend of Sept. 5-7.

There will be a carry-in dinner at 6:30 p.m. Sept 5 featuring laymen telling of their experiences in Volunteers In Mission inside the United States and in other countries. Those sharing this work will be Gary Hoy and Calvin and Marlene Hinde of Cassoday and Ralph and Phyllis Kreutziger and Don and Betty Fruechting of Marion.

Margaret Farnsworth, a missionary to Kazakhstan, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6. She has taught business in East Africa and is now the director of the Small Business Training Center, established to help people help themselves following the fall communism 12 years ago in Kazakhstan, formerly a part of the USSR.

Seth and Cheryl Tidball will speak during the 9:30 a.m. Sept. 7 worship service. Seth has left the pastoral ministry to become a missionary to the Native Americans in Arizona and he will be doing leadership training, theological education by extension, and church planting. Cheryl will work in women's and children's ministries.

The public is invited to attend.
