MMS boys are 7-1 to finish first half of season
Marion Middle School boys finished the first half of the season winning over Centre 50-21 to bring their season record to 7-1.
The A-team beat their previously undefeated opponent with a solid half-court defense, determined rebounding, and an unstoppable running game.
Jason Hett led the scoring for the Wildcats with 19 points. Travis Hett continued to play well and added 15 points.
The B-team continued their improved play. The Wildcats ran away in the first half 22-6 and coasted to victory 30-18. Austin Hager led a strong rebounding effort and scored 14 points. Bryce Suffield continued to improve his play and added eight points.
The Marion Middle School teams play again Thursday at Wichita Independent.
In other recent action, the boys met Chase County on Dec. 9. All three teams were victorious: The A-team won, 36-32; B-team, 32-16; and C-team 27-14.
Meeting Herington on Dec. 12, the A-team had their first loss of the year losing 32-39; the B-team won, 36-32, and the C-team won, 13-11.
