MMS eighth grade boys win first
Marion Middle School eighth grade boys continued their winning streak, bringing home first place Monday from the Burlington Invitational track meet. This is the third win in a row.
The boys had two first place finishes to secure their win. The 4x100-relay team was first with a time of 51.05 seconds. Austin Hager was first in the discus with a throw of 132 feet eight and one-half inches.
Eighth grade girls were third, with Kimber Hardey bringing home a first and breaking a school record in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet 10 1/2 inches. Hardey also was first in the discus, throwing 88-11 1/2.
Seventh grade boys were third. Adam Regnier had a first place finish in the 400-meter run with a time of one minute 1.7 seconds.
Seventh grade girls placed sixth. Jessica Timm brought home a first place finish in the high jump with a leap of 4-6.
