Natalie Carlson graduates from SC, receives Fran Jabara award
Natalie Carlson, Lincolnville, received the Fran Jabara Award May 7 during commencement exercises at Southwestern College, Winfield.
Carlson graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) with a bachelor of arts degree in not-for-profit management and minors in leadership and youth ministries.
The Fran Jabara Award is presented to encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship and excellence. The award is presented to two students each year.
An Oklahoma State University and Wichita State University graduate, Jabara is an advocate for the American free enterprise system and founded the Center for Entrepreneurship at WSU in 1977.
Prior to commencement, Carlson also was inducted into the Southwestern College Order of the Mound, an honor to graduates who academically are in the top 10 percent of their graduating class.
