A Marion woman plans to open a new business in November that will fill a void she believes exists in the current retail market.
Linda LeShure plans to open "The Outlet" at 1204 E. Main sometime around Nov. 1. The business will offer used and refurbished furniture and appliances as well as wood crafts and ceramic items.
A 13-year resident of Marion, LeShure will be joined in this business venture by her parents, Annie and Buck Black. The Blacks moved to Marion from Amarillo, Texas, approximately three weeks ago to be near LeShure and her family.
"My mother and father do woodcrafts and I do ceramics so we plan to offer those items along with the furniture," LeShure explained.
In terms of the furniture market, The Outlet will provide goods that cater to consumers on a tighter than usual budget.
"We hope to provide an outlet to people who can't afford to buy new furniture and appliances," LeShure explained. "We'll be selling stoves, refrigerators, freezers, beds, dressers, dinette tables and chairs
Not only will the owners sell used furniture, but they will also purchase good, used items from the public.
Beside the furniture, the Blacks will offer woodcrafts that include items like clocks made from cedar.
For LeShure, setting up shop at the East Main location is like coming home. In 1994, she operated "Ceramic Legends" at that same location.
The Outlet will be open from 9 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
