New pastor arrives for Florence/Aulne churches
Pastor Mark Moore led services for the first time Sunday at Aulne and Florence United Methodist churches. He and his wife Nancy reside at Florence.
The couple has five sons ranging in age from 28 to 20 and four grandchildren.
Pastor Moore spent the first 11 years of ministry in the Assembly of God denomination. He began pastoring in 1973, the same year the couple married.
In 1993, he took a course of study at St. Paul's School of Theology in Kansas City. He was ordained in 1997 and has ministered in United Methodist churches the past 19 years.
The couple served three churches in Nebraska and five churches in Kansas — Downs, Paradise, Jewell, Enterprise, and Abilene — before coming to Florence.
They said they are looking forward to learning to know the people in the Florence and Aulne communities.
"People here know how to make you feel at home," Nancy commented.
