Lost Springs American Legion Auxiliary met Thursday afternoon at the home of Hallie Novak. After the formal opening, secretary Dollye Novak read the minutes and the treasurer, Hallie Novak, gave her report. Evelyn Strecker, president, read the communications which we discussed. She announced the 4th District Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary will be held April 24 in Manhattan at the post home and at Motel 6. Hallie received the poppies that will be distributed in May. We held a memorial and draping of the charter service in memory of our 51-year member, Mildred Blair, who died in January. Dollye Novak, chaplain, closed the meeting with prayer.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Smith and daughter, Hallie, of Great Bend visited a week ago with Dr. Bob and Hallie Novak.
Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu helped Jolene Albrecht and her new baby daughter, Morgan, Tuesday from the Salina Regional Hospital.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik enjoyed the Pilsen Community Center dinner Sunday after Mass. They served roast beef and ham, potatoes, green beans, and dessert to raise funds for a project for fixing restrooms for handicap people.
Carol Makovec had coffee Saturday morning with her mother, Irma Reznicek and brother Bob.
Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu went shopping Saturday in Salina. They stopped to visit with Neil and Jolene Albrecht, Kallie Jo and Morgan.
Bob and Irma Reznicek attended the dinner Sunday at the Pilsen Community Center.
Gregory Stenzel and daughter Nikki were dinner guests of Betty Stenzel of Ramona.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik visited Sunday night with Irma and Bob Reznicek. Alex said their radishes are up in the garden.
Larry Stuchlik and Micky Black of Herington visited Saturday evening with Evelyn Strecker.
Received a telephone call from my sister, Victoria Zell of Shelby Mont. She said the ground is starting to thaw out and she is thinking of doing yard work.
Sylvia Bezdek visited Sunday afternoon with her neighbors, Irma and Bob Reznicek.
My tulips and daffodils are up. Some are blooming. My son, Douglas, said he would be down Saturday to till my garden. Some farmers are working ground and planting oats.
Larry Rudolph visited Mary Black and Lance of Herington on St. Patrick's Day. They celebrated Micky Black's 19th birthday that evening.
