Adeline Bernhardt and Betty Mueller accompanied Joyce Medley Sunday afternoon to Abilene for the Lutheran Women's Missionary League spring rally. Angela Jeppesen from Haskell Indian Institute in Lawrence was the featured speaker. Adeline was the winner of one of the centerpieces.
Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn spent Sunday with Ryan and Claudette Spohn, Adam and Lauren. They accompanied Ryan to church in the morning. Then Claudette and the children joined them for dinner out in celebration of Carole's birthday. The children stayed with their grandparents and great-grandmother in the afternoon while their parents attended a play.
Sunday evening visitors of Helen Schwartzman were Stephanie Classen of Marion, Martha Melcher, and Eleanor Murphy.
Tom and Dee Duggan spent from Thursday to Sunday with Darla Hall and Adam of Lee's Summit, Mo. All attended Adam's Thursday evening basketball game and a geography bee Friday at Hawthorne Hills Elementary School. Darla and Adam went to a pizza and swim party Saturday for the basketball team at the YMCA. Adam returned with the Duggans to spend his spring break visiting them and Deb and Kaylee Hall of Herington. They stopped in Herington on the way home to pick up Kaylee, who was a Sunday overnight and Monday guest of the Duggans and Adam.
Sunday visitors of Jim and Mary Clemmer and Ron were Dale and Sandy Clemmer and Cassie of Salina, L/Cpl. Charles Clemmer, who is visiting them on a short pass, Charlie's friend Shea, and Shawn and Karin Clemmer and Blayke, also of Salina.
Anna Mae Stika, Lori Moldenhauer, and Lisa Hanschu, along with Irene Beames of Ramona and Shelby Monnington of Herington, were hostesses Sunday afternoon for a baby shower for Rusty and Samantha Beames at their home in Herington. Anna Weber also attended the shower.
John and Pat Schwartzman of Salina spent Sunday with his mother, Helen Schwartzman. All enjoyed dinner at the cafe.
Leona Kleiber accompanied Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Amanda, Andrea, and Nicholas Sunday afternoon to Florence to attend the confirmation service at Holy Family Parish in which Amanda and Andrea were confirmands. Others attending were Terry and Cindy Vinduska, Jill Vinduska of Manhattan, Dean and Becky Routh, Melody, Allison, and Danielle of Augusta, and John Larson of Galva. All enjoyed a reception and potluck supper following the service.
Betty Mueller accompanied Agnes Steinert and Norma Cabeen of Hillsboro Saturday to McPherson to see "The Passion of the Christ."
Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went Saturday to Abilene. They joined other family and friends at the bowling alley for a party in celebration of Taylor Thompson's eighth birthday. Other guests were Courtney Geis, Julie Swartz, Jaci Baier, Meagan Cuba, Allison Phillips, and Brice Dawson. Following bowling, Connie Thompson served pizza, pop, and birthday cake. Taylor received many cards and gifts.
Many Tampa people attended the funeral Saturday for Ralph Haslouer in Abilene. Haslouer was the father of Jeanne Rziha. A number of family members from out of town were weekend guests of the Rzihas. All of the Haslouer family have the sympathy of the Tampa community.
On Saturday Georgia Spohn visited Marguerite Goertz of Hillsboro and her daughter Rose who is visiting from California.
Adeline Bernhardt, Ruby Vinduska, and Leona Kleiber enjoyed lunch out Saturday in Salina. Later they saw the movie "The Passion of the Christ."
Irene Beames of Ramona and Anna Mae Stika enjoyed dinner out Wednesday in Council Grove and did some shopping.
Jane Vajnar has been busy preparing for her April 17 auction. Along with the auctioneer, Chad Schmidt, and his brother and nephew, Jeremy and Steven Schmidt, those providing much appreciated volunteer labor include Mel Epling, Walt Dietrich, Van Van Tauber, Jonas and Kim Frantz, Gary Spohn, John and Kathy Oborny, Dan and Kim Oborny, Ethan and Logan, Diane Steiner, Mike and Sharon Benda, Willis Herbel, and Wilbert Backhus. If any worker's name is omitted, blame it on senility, not ingratitude.
Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter Friday morning at Marion Manor in Marion.
Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went Wednesday afternoon to Wichita to visit Don Kerbs at Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center where he is a patient. Other visitors were his wife Betty and daughters, Donita Michaelson of Salina and Dayna Croisant from Nebraska. Reuben and Lucille also visited Georgia Kerbs.
Visitors of Helen Schwartzman on Monday afternoon were Father Norbert Dlabl of Goodland and Mary Clemmer.
Art and Betty Mueller and David Mueller spent the weekend of February 28-29 in Tempe, Ariz. They attended a reception Saturday in honor of Austin Schroeder and his baptism at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on Sunday. Austin is the son of Travis and Christina Schroeder. Those attending included Doug and Brenda Mueller of Ixonia, Wis., Dale and Marla Mueller of Folsom, Calif., Jacintha and Frank Davis of Festus, Mo., and other relatives and friends.
