Cecilia Rziha of Hays is spending her spring break with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie. Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita joined them Monday and plan to stay until Friday.
Bill Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls visited Monday with Tillie Hein.
Tom and Dee Duggan visited Lorene Kleiber and Ruby Vinduska Monday at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
Tillie Hein, Martha Melcher, Eleanor Murphy, and Helen Schwartzman attended the card party Sunday evening in Herington.
Greg Sklenar of Wichita spent Sunday with Lois Sklenar and Valerie Hampton.
Adeline Bernhardt attended a luncheon and program in celebration of Hank Schubert's 90th birthday Sunday at Trinity Hall in Ramona.
Bonnie Haslouer of Abilene accompanied Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, Cecilia and Julie to Wichita Sunday afternoon to visit Sister Mary Cora Rziha at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent. Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita met them there.
Leona Kleiber accompanied Terry and Cindy Vinduska Sunday afternoon to Wichita. Leona and Cindy attended a baby shower for Melissa Stuchlik at the home of Gwen Robben. Other hostesses were Jill Vinduska, Megan Luna, and Candee Thode. Becky Routh, Allison and Danielle of Augusta also were in attendance. Terry joined other relatives at Daniel and Melissa's home. Terry, Cindy, and Leona enjoyed supper out before returning home.
Vic Backhus of Herington and Paul and Edna Backhus attended the 90th birthday party for George Meyer Saturday afternoon at the senior center. Vic was a supper guest of Paul and Edna.
Wayne and Marita Schwartzman of Wichita and John and Pat Schwartzman of Salina spent Saturday with Helen Schwartzman and her houseguest, Leroy Schwartzman of Ballwin, Mo.
David Rziha and Caterina Rozman of Lawrence were weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, Cecilia and Julie. They celebrated Jeanne's and David's birthdays.
Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt attended George Meyer's 90th birthday party Saturday at the senior center.
On Saturday, Jim and Jeanie Weber and Tom and Lori Moldenhauer celebrated their wedding anniversaries and Jim's birthday at Prairie Rose Ranch.
Leona Kleiber accompanied Lynn and Peggy Kleiber to Newton early Saturday evening to attend a multi-piano recital featuring 75 pianists and five keyboards at the Krehbiel Auditorium on the Bethel College campus. Amanda, Andrea, and Nicholas Kleiber were among those performing. Piano students and their teachers had spent the day at Bethel rehearsing. All the Kleibers enjoyed supper out before returning home.
Kaylee Hall of Herington was a Friday overnight and Saturday guest of Tom and Dee Duggan. When they took her home, they watched Bowling for Big Brothers and Big Sisters where Deb Hall was participating.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence Thursday at Hillsboro. They attended Learning in Retirement at Tabor College. Darrell Goering from Moundridge presented a program about the Plains Indians with special emphasis on Black Kettle, who had camped in the Moundridge area. They enjoyed lunch out afterward.
Sunflower Senior Citizens were hosts for the Marion County senior citizens board meeting and dinner Friday at the senior center. Tampa members attending and helping serve were Margaret Jirak, Magdalen Dvorak, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Bonnie Crandall, Tillie Hein, Helen Costello, Jim and Mary Clemmer, Tom Duggan, and Carole Spohn.
Anna Mae Stika and Irene Beames went to the movie "The Passion of the Christ" Thursday in Salina.
Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Mary Christiansen attended the Red Hat Ladies' luncheon and meeting Thursday at Hayes House Restaurant in Council Grove. Phyllis Allen of Herington was the hostess. The group sang "Happy Birthday" to Phyllis and Mary.
Real progress has been made in preparations for Jane Vajnar's auction, so the April 17 date actually seems achievable.
