George and Patsy Waner enjoyed Sunday dinner at Cheryl's Café in Canton.

Jorge Hanschu of Hillsboro spent Thursday with his grandparents, Joe and Jo Ann Nowak. The Nowaks drove to Wichita Friday to visit Jennifer Frasher and children. Tim was away on a business trip to California.

Evelyn Grogan of Winfield came Thursday and will spend a week with her aunt, Emma Klenda.

Betty and Ray Riedy of Hope visited Maxine Svitak Sunday afternoon.

Kathy Svitak attended the 13th annual Creative Holiday Saturday at the Kansas State Historical Museum in Topeka with her Czech baked goods.

Dr. Gerald Vinduska and children were guests of Dr. Eugene and Verna Vinduska for Sunday brunch.

Dr. Linda Loney of Boston came Thursday evening and stayed with me until Sunday morning. We drove to McPherson Friday, then Friday evening attended the auction at the Pilsen Automotive Shop and had a great time. We did come home with a few treasures. Our plans for Saturday included a trip to Wichita to see Connor and Audra, but the dense fog canceled those plans.

Joe, Tish, and Mark Vinduska were Sunday dinner guests of Millie and Lillie Vinduska. Joe and Mark drove to Emporia in the afternoon to attend Maggie Vinduska's a Cappella choir concert at Emporia State University. They visited with Maggie after the concert.

Laura Howard and children were Sunday afternoon visitors of Millie and Lillie Vinduska.

Carole Sklenar drove to Newton Saturday to visit at the Russell Schroeder home. She was an overnight guest as she didn't feel comfortable driving home alone in the dense fog. Kevin Searle and Darla Kasper of Newton came Saturday morning to go hunting with Lloyd Sklenar. The dense fog set in before they started for home, so they spent the night with Lloyd.

Edmund and Mary Lou Kroupa drove to Hillsboro Sunday afternoon to visit Irene Nowak at the Hillsboro LTCU. They stopped in Marion on the way home and visited Theo Kroupa at Marion Manor.

Vernie Konecny returned home Friday after spending a week visiting her daughter and husband, Frank and Cindy Davis of Festus, Mo.

The Kevin Hill family attended the K-6 Christmas Concert at Centre Tuesday evening.

Teresa, Nellie, and Cassidy Hill played Bingo Saturday at the community building in Lincolnville. Santa made his visit later in the afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Konecny drove to Hutchinson Monday. Gene had a doctor's appointment.

The Kevin Hill family attended Nellie's grades 7-12 Christmas concert Monday night. Nellie is a member of the Centre band.

Rosalie Rudolph attended the grades 3-6 Christmas program in Marion Monday night.

Margaret Vinduska, Ruby Vinduska, and JoAnn Nowak were among those attending the American Legion Auxiliary's Christmas party Monday evening at Butch's Diner in Tampa.

The Gail Makovec family attended Sheila's K-6 concert Tuesday evening at Centre. Shaina attended the CYO Christmas party Wednesday evening at the Marion activity center. The Makovec family attended Sheila's basketball game at Southeast of Saline Friday. Shaina is a team member and also a cheerleader. Shaina attended the FFA public speaking contest on Saturday at Centre. She took third place. Marissa helped prepare and serve the FFA alumni dinner to the contestants. The Makovec family attended Simon's National Guard Christmas party Sunday at the Red Coach Inn in Newton. Servicemen and their families were guests of honor. The family attended the 4-H Christmas party in Tampa Sunday evening. On Monday attended Shaina's 7-12 grade Christmas program at Centre.

Dean and Pat Bina attended Justin's K-6 Christmas program at Centre.

Mr. and Mrs. George Oborny attended the Centre grades 7-12 Christmas program at Centre.

Kenny and Bonnie Vinduska and Kathy Silhan visited Amelia Vinduska during the week. Amelia accompanied Margie Stroda to Lincolnville on Wednesday. Margie, and Arthur Stroda and Emily Staatz visited Amelia after Mass Sunday.

Dean and Pat Bina drove to Salina Sunday. They ate supper before returning home.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Meysing visited with Greg and Darla Meysing and family Sunday evening.

Magdalen Dvorak was among those enjoying a bus tour to Great Bend on Monday and Tuesday. They visited the art gallery at Barton Community College, a Christmas tree exhibit at the Art Gallery Craft Mall (all the Christmas trees were decorated by children). The group had tea at Lizzie's Victorian house and the evening meal was enjoyed at Barton County Historical Museum. They also saw the Festival of Lights south of Great Bend. They enjoyed a meal Tuesday at Curtis Restaurant in Stafford and in the afternoon toured the flour mill in Hudson. Everyone was given a five pound sack of flour. That will make a nice batch of kolacky.

Irma Reznicek and Magdalen Dvorak drove to McPherson Friday and attended the St. Joseph Harvest House meeting and potluck luncheon.

Marlene Clayton stopped by to pick up Magdalen Dvorak Sunday and they drove to Emporia where they had dinner with Maggie Vinduska, then attended Maggie's a Cappella choir concert at Taylor Hall at Emporia State University.

Mr. and Mrs. Pat McCaffrey and children of Topeka were Saturday and Sunday houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Silhan.

Kathy and Terry Silhan attended the St. Luke Hospital Christmas party at the VFW post home in Marion.

Glad to report that Irene Tajchman was able to return home Monday after spending several days in the Hillsboro hospital with pneumonia.

Jenna Tajchman, a student at K-State, spent the weekend with her parents, Joe and Barbara Tajchman. She assisted Saturday in the judging of the FFA South Central District public speaking contest at Centre.

LaVada Holub attended the Pilsen Community Center board meeting Friday evening. LaVada attended Mass in Herington and afterward attended a family dinner honoring the 75th birthday of her brother, Dwayne Stroda. Later, a group of friends surprised Dwayne with a birthday party with all the "trimmings." LaVada drove to Newton later in the afternoon and attended a Christmas program and banquet at the First Missionary Church. Some of LaVada's family participated in the program. She was an overnight guest of the McGlachlins and returned home Monday morning.
