Nina Krotz

Nina I. Krotz, 70, died Oct. 28, 2003, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.

Born March 9, 1933, at Montezuma, she was the daughter of Cecil Vere and Lena (Bolte) Hornbaker.

She married Florian Krotz on July 22, 1948, in Cottonwood Falls. He died in 2002.

An upholsterer for Beech Aircraft for 33 years, she also was a member of Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Stephen.

Survivors include two sons, Greg and Kelly Krotz of Newton and Mark Krotz of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Dick Carr of Hillsboro; two brothers, Cecil Hornbaker of Washington, D.C., and Wayne Hornbaker of Rociada, N.M.; a sister, Geraldine Grentz of Marion; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen. The funeral Mass was said at 10:30 a.m. with Father Steve Gronert and Father John Hotze and concelebrants.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
