Marion Mayor Eloise Mueller has announced her decision not to run for re-election. This leaves the door wide open for someone to step up to the challenge of leading Marion.
Being mayor is like being in the newspaper business — it isn't glamorous, it won't make you rich, and it will probably make people mad at you. In return, there is an opportunity to make a difference in this community.
It's time for new leadership, ideas, direction. The deadline to file is noon Tuesday. If you feel strongly about the future of Marion, put your name on the dotted line.
