Old Glory fund falling short

Marion Chamber of Commerce's "Old Glory Fund" is falling short. Twenty-one flags are needed and only three have been subscribed.

The flags and poles along Main Street in Marion have suffered from weather, vandalism, and ravages of time.

The public asks that the flags be flown to show support in time of war. But the banners are showing signs of deterioration.

Only bright new flags should be flown. They will be purchased in the heaviest and durable material, just as soon as 19 more volunteers subscribe to the effort. The cost of sponsoring a flag is $50. Any amount will be accepted. Contact the Marion Chamber of Commerce office to join this patriotic cause.
