Opal Aberg
Opal Irene Aberg, 83, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 16, 2003, at Hutchinson hospital.
Born Oct. 6, 1920, in Platte County, Wyo., she was the daughter of Earl Hicks and Mary Anna Dove Call.
On Aug. 20, 1938, she married Dalphas Ray Ford at Florence. She married John Martin Aberg on Jan. 9, 1958, at Hutchinson. He died in 1989.
She was a resident of Marion from 1938-1952, Concordia in the early 1960s, then moved to Plevna in 1969. She had been a resident of Hutchinson since 1983.
She was a homemaker and member of Berean Baptist Church and the Young at Hearts club.
Survivors include three daughters, Louise Lyon and Irene Southards, both of Hutchinson and Delphine Chatham of Tennessee Colony, Texas; a stepson, Dewayne Aberg of Superior, Neb.; a sister, Ruth Regester of Russell; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 22 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Berean Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Roger Neir officiating.
Burial was in Fairlawn Burial Park.
A memorial has been established with the church.
