Orville Winsor
Orville Edwin Winsor, 96, died Jan. 1, 2002, at his residence in Burns.
He was born Feb. 21, 1905, at rural Morris, Ill., the son of the late Wilbur Monroe and Bird Matilda (Hoge) Winsor.
A farmer, he was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and a director on the Co-Op board, school board, and township board.
He married Myrtle A. Callison on March 5, 1933, at the First Methodist parsonage in Wichita. She died Sept. 28, 1998.
He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, and watching sports events on television.
Survivors include one son, Orville Earl Winsor of Burns; one daughter, Patricia Winsor of Burns; sister, Mable I. Molzen, Newton; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Gretchen L. Runyon, and two brothers, John and Glene Winsor.
Services were held Friday morning at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Hyson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name at the church.
