Padgett family holds reunion

A couple from New York state traveled the farthest to attend the Padgett family reunion Sunday at the Florence Senior Center.

Family members ranged in age from nine weeks to 91 years old. The couple who traveled the farthest came from Rye, N.Y. The day was spent visiting, meeting new relatives, and looking at old photos. The genealogists of the family are working on tracing the family history.

Those attending were Helen Padgett Schroeder and Harriet Woodyard of Wamego, Melvin and Nancy Padgett of Manhattan, Lawrence Padgett of Kansas City, Mo.

Freddie Gene Bohnstedt, Bill and Kathy Kendall, Ethan and Kaden Whittington, Jesse, Rebecca, and Jessica Estabrook, Bill, Jaime, and Aiden Michael Kendall of Hutchinson,

Chuck Kendall of Haven, Edmund and Pat Padgett Pugh of Rye, N.Y., Gary and Sue Padgett of Greenleaf.

Vera London, Vicki London, Bill and Gaila Henry, Tari Malmgren, and Kate Vaupel of Wichita.

Gladys Jewell of Peabody, Betty Padgett Ireland of Florence, and Jerry and Edna Padgett Malmgren of Overland Park.

The next reunion will be the last Sunday in September 2005.
