Pamela and Corey Scott are wed
Pamela Elizabeth Korthanke and Corey Patrick Scott were united in marriage June 14, 2003, at Zion United Methodist Church, Robinson.
Pastor Charlie Neill officiated at the ceremony. Scripture was read by Adam Madison, Everest.
Parents of the couple are Roy and Mary Jones of Hiawatha, Steven Korthanke of Robinson, and Mark and Shannon Scott of Everest.
The bride is the granddaughter of Pauline Schimpf of Marion and the late William Schimpf.
Judi Bruning of Robinson was pianist and Adam Ewing of Hiawatha, soloist.
The bride wore a floor-length gown of white satin and tulle. The sleeveless bodice was adorned along the princess neckline with pearls and beads. The back of the bodice was laced with self fabric cords. The tulle skirt was trimmed with pearls, beads, and lace, with lace at the hemline. Her veil of tulle was edged with satin and held in place by a pearl and beaded headpiece. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Escimo roses, blue lace flowers, and stephanotis accented with ivy and white ribbon.
Leah Rush of Troy attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Jessica Manisco of Denton, Texas. They wore navy floor-length gowns and carried bouquets of roses and blue lace flowers accented with navy ribbon.
Cara Shirley of Troy was flower girl. Ring bearer was the bride's cousin Alex Ham of Somerset, Ky.
Serving the groom as best man was John Fassnacht of Muscotah. Jason Vanderwiede of Effingham was groomsman. The men in the wedding party were attired in Western black tuxedos with tails. Each had a boutonniere of white roses.
Guests were seated by Corbin Hodges of Horton, Warren Wilson of Muscotah, and the bride's cousin Willy Witt of Mount Vernon, Ky.
Katie Vollmer was the guest book attendant. Gift carriers were Rebecca Glasser and Aimee Davidson. Nicole Korthanke, cousin of the bride, distributed the programs and was in charge of the rose petals tossed at the bride and groom as they left the church.
A reception in the church fellowship hall followed the ceremony. Servers were the bride's aunts Cheryl Witt and Marsha Weaver and her cousins Amber Weaver and Lisa Neher.
A dance was held at Everest later that evening.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Hiawatha High School and attends Benedictine College in Atchison. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Horton High School and a graduate of Barton County Community College. He is employed at Leavenworth VA Fire Department.
The couple resides in Everest.
William J. Schimpf, Marion, uncle of the bride, was among those attending the wedding.
