Late Monday night, officers from the Peabody Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, the Hillsboro Police Department, and the Coffey County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 711 North Walnut in Peabody.

Police Chief Jeff Pohlman reports that eight adults were arrested. Pohlman also said five children, ranging in age from one month to eight years, were removed from the residence.

Seven of those named in the arrest were Doug Gable, 42; Bobby Maris, 44; Tonya Polk, 26; Travis Polk, 27; Shannon Ferreira, age unknown; Jenny Luginbill, 27; and Amy Luginbill, 23. No addresses were available.

The individuals were booked into the Marion County jail and charges are being filed in Marion County District Court.

The eight are charged with attempted manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, no drug tax stamp, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics with 1,000 feet of a school, and child endangerment.

The five juveniles in the home were taken into Juvenile Intake and Assessment and placed in temporary foster homes.

Pohlman also reported that arrests have been made in all of the vandalism and arson cases that took place at the city park during the summer. Juveniles were arrested and charged in those cases, he said.
