Peggy Hett
Peggy Jean Hett, 71, died Aug. 2, 2002, at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 29, 1930, at Marion, the daughter of the late Gene and Vera (Keazer) McCarty.
She was married to Jerry Hett Nov. 21, 1948, at Marion. He died in 1998.
Services were held Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Pastor Bill Sherfy officiating.
Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her name at the children's section of Marion City Library.
Survivors include sons Gene, Gary, Jerry, and David Hett, all of Marion, and Larry Hett of Minnesota; sister, Dorothy Stubby of Newton; and 12 grandchildren.
A life sketch will be published next week.
