Phyllis Frickey

Phyllis E. Frickey, 78, of West Lafayette, Ind., died Jan. 1, 2004.

A former Marion resident, she was born Nov. 5, 1925, at Topeka.

A graduate of Washburn University, she was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church and the Lafayette Women's Christian Association. She had been chairman of the child care committee, a member of the Mary Martha Circle, a volunteer Sunday school teacher from preschool to the college level, and a member of the Quest Study Club.

On June 22, 1946, she married Edward Frickey in Topeka. The couple lived in West Lafayette, Ind., since 1966.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward L. and Karen Frickey Jr. of Lafayette, Ind., Daniel and Elaine Frickey of League City, Texas, and Ronald and Susan Frickey of Columbia City, Ind.; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Conrad Smith of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Joan Eakes of Topeka and Shirley Wingerson of Houston, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Soiler-Baker, West Lafayette Chapel, West Lafayette, Ind., with the Rev. Katherine Walker officiating.

Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, Ind.
