Pilsen: Family enjoys Easter at Vinduska farm home

Elaine and Miranda Ledford of Denver, Colo., came Thursday and spent the weekend at the Betty Vinduska farm. Besides visiting with Betty, who is a resident at Marion Manor, they readied the farm home for an Easter Sunday luncheon and supper. Those enjoying the day included Betty Vinduska, Nancy and Ron Kraft, Mike and Cindy Kraft and family, Jason and Krista Wituk and family, Scott, Joy, and Emma Wituk, and Marian and Randy Guapo and daughters, all of Wichita, Donald and Jeannie Vinduska, Eric Vinduska of Kansas City, Elaine and Miranda Ledford of Denver, Carol and Helmut Wituk, and John and Gerry Vinduska and family. The afternoon was spent visiting and enjoying the farm.

Jerry Nowak visited me Saturday afternoon.

Jackie and Paul Gengler and family of Salina hosted Easter dinner at their home. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nowak, Joe and Yo Nowak and family of Goddard, John and Judy Nowak and family of Inman, Jerry Nowak and family of Colwich, Jan and Jayson Hanschu and family of Hillsboro, Jennifer and Tim Frasher and family of Wichita, and Judy and Kevin Steinborn and family of Marion. The group also celebrated Joe's 69th birthday, which is April 3.

Jill Vinduska of Manhattan was a weekend guest of her parents, Terry and Cindy Vinduska. Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik of Wichita were Saturday and Sunday houseguests of the Vinduskas. Terry and Cindy hosted an Easter Sunday dinner at their home. Their guests included their houseguests and Lou and Ruby Vinduska, Leona Kleiber of Tampa, Dean and Becky Routh and family of Augusta, Ron, Tammi, Kristi, and Staci Vinduska of Topeka, and Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and family of Tampa.

Kris and Sharon Kuhn of Wichita and Martin, Kimbra, Kayla, and Clinton Kroupa were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Edmund and Mary Lou Kroupa.

Dennis and Mary Steiner drove to Newton Sunday and treated Mary's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ehlers, to dinner. They then drove to Wichita to visit family and friends.

The John Goentzel family were Saturday night and Easter Sunday guests of Marlene's mother, Mary Pfeiffer.

Patsy and George Waner and Dr. David, Mary Kay, Matthew, and Katie Holland of Shawnee, Okla., were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Steve, Ann, and Claire Buckendahl of Benton.

Deb, Scott, Amanda, Erin, and Cameron Steward and Tracy, Kaylyn, Chelsy, Blake, and Whitney Rudolph were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Jimmy, Rosalie, and Wendy Rudolph. An Easter egg hunt and softball game followed in the afternoon. They tell me Rosalie was the winning pitcher!!

Margaret and Ed Vinduska visited with Lou and Ruby Vinduska Thursday afternoon. Ron, Tammi, Kristi, and Staci Vinduska of Topeka were Saturday overnight guests of Lou and Ruby. All attended Mass together Sunday in Pilsen.

Lloyd Sklenar and Dustin Stevens drove to Newton and Wichita Thursday on business. Darla and Kaylee Kasper and Kevin Searle of Newton visited on Friday with the Sklenars and Dustin.

Jerry Nowak and children of Colwich were weekend guests of Joe and JoAnn Nowak.

Marie Konarik of Manhattan was a weekend guest of her parents, Bob and Karen Konarik. Bob, Karen, and Marie hosted Easter Sunday dinner at their home. Their guests included Stanley Konarik of Lincolnville, Martha Melcher of Tampa, Helen Soukup of Abilene, Al Konarik of Oklahoma City, Okla., Michelle Siegfred of Topeka, and John and Mary Griffith of Marion. In the afternoon they enjoyed the Konarik annual Easter egg hunt. Alfred Konarik was a Sunday overnight guest.

Kathy Svitak visited and took her parents, Bob and Irene Finley, to lunch Thursday afternoon. Damien Svitak and Jenni Stevens of Manhattan were Easter weekend visitors of Randy and Kathy. Bob and Irene Finley were Easter Sunday dinner and afternoon guests.

Shane and Kathy Svitak attended the Marion County Executive Council monthly meeting in Hillsboro Monday evening.

Dan and Marcia Falen, Sylvia Bezdek, and Frances Falen of Abilene were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Harvey Falen in Herington.

Irene Tajchman accompanied Rose Polok and children of San Diego, Calif., to Waterloo, Iowa, last Saturday to visit Merlin and Lonnie Polok. They enjoyed fishing in the Mississippi and visited many places of interest in Iowa.

Dean and Pat Bina attended the annual Bina Easter Sunday dinner in the Pilsen church basement. Hosts were Martin and Sandy Bina and Janie and Gene Johnson of Augusta.

Mr. and Mrs. Terry Silhan, Fred Silhan, Staci Thurston of Hillsboro, Meggan and Geoff Daniel of Wichita, Christy and Wes Hiebert and Mike of Newton, Dan Hiebert of Belle Plaine, and Frank Svitak were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Maxine Svitak. Fred, Staci, Meggan, and Geoff were supper guests of Terry and Kathy.

Mike and Jackie Grogan and family of Ellis were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Emma Klenda.

Joe, Tish, and Mark Vinduska and Lillie Vinduska were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Millie Vinduska. Bob Vinduska, Laura Howard, and Gene Vinduska Jr. visited Millie and Lillie Vinduska Monday night.

Maggie Vinduska and friend Becky of Emporia visited Magdalen Dvorak Tuesday afternoon.

Magdalen Dvorak attended the party at the Marion Christian Church Saturday afternoon honoring Marjorie Nienstedt's 90th birthday. Magdalen's Easter Sunday dinner guests included Don, Karen, Melanie, Kara, and Matt Druse, Kevin Ulmer of Derby, John and Carol Dvorak, Tom and Janel Dvorak of Newton, Jennifer and Kristain Dvorak of Wichita, Tom and Margaret Niles of El Reno, Okla., Eric, Deana, Bailey, and Wyatt Kappus of Union City, Okla., Mike, Carleen, and Ryan Dvorak of Emporia, Marie, David, Corey, and Quinton Smith of Newton, Marie's friend Jodi, Darrin, Janella, Derrick, and Zachary Dvorak and Jessica Frett of Salina.

John Spachek was a weekend guest of Donna and Larry Erpelding of Manhattan. Tim and Angie Larson of Brainard, Minn., were weekend houseguests at the Erpelding home.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tajchman and Jenna hosted Easter Sunday dinner at their home. Their guests included Rose Polok, Alexis and Marcus of San Diego, Calif., John, Dr. Jessica, Anna, and Jordan Laurin, Gene and Anna Marie Miller and Susan, Tiffany, and Levi Farris of Andover, Dale, Emma, Duncan, Dwight, and Dustin Davidson of Hope, Arlene and Allen Tryron of Emporia, Adolphine Tajchman of Wichita, Joe Miller of Iola, and Irene Tajchman.

Dee Lucas of Augusta and yours truly were Easter Sunday dinner guests of Gene and Vernie Konecny.

Tom and Sandy Holub and family and a friend Angela of Salina and LaVada Holub were Easter Sunday dinner and supper guests of the Ron McGlachlin family in Newton.

Tim Holub and daughters of Cheney were Friday and Saturday guests of Ruby Holub. Ruby's Easter Sunday dinner guests were Frank, Vera, and Chip Holub of Halstead, Anna Meyer of Halstead, Ben Holub of Newton, and Dan and Ron Holub and family.

Dorman and Mary Helen Becker of Durham accompanied Paul and Alice Meysing to Oklahoma City, Okla., for the Easter weekend. They were houseguests of Larry, Tammi, Nicholas, and Jacob Meysing.

Jennifer Marshall, Kori and Klayton of Blackwater, Mo., came Friday and were houseguests of George and Kathleen Oborny until Monday noon. Jeannie and Steve Blue and family of Salina came Saturday morning and were additional houseguests until Sunday evening. George and Kathleen hosted an Easter dinner at the Pilsen Community Center. Guests included David and Sam Oborny and family, Jeannie and Steve Blue and family and Dennis and Rita Oborny of Salina, Jennifer, Kori, and Klayton Marshall, Frank, Rita, and Ron Steiner of Durham, John, Lisa, and Kirsten Steiner of Abilene, Ken and Chris Steiner and sons of Ellsworth, Barb and Willie Rodriquez of Hutchinson, Steve and Susan Rodriquez and daughters of Wichita, Robert and Anita Rodriquez, Shaunessy and Shalee of Hutchinson, Gary and Vernie Base of Smolan, Gerod Base of McPherson, Ralph and Ida Steiner of Salina, and Chad Steiner of Manhattan.

Christine, McKenzie, and Kayley Bina of Rockville, Md., came Monday and will be overnight guests of Dean and Pat Bina. Christine and children had spent the Easter weekend with her parents, Carolyn and Bill Brocker, in Shawnee. Pat and Dean hosted Monday supper at the Chinese Restaurant in Hillsboro Their guests were Christine, McKenzie, and Kayley, and Jeff and Terri Bina and sons. Before returning home, they stopped to visit Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson.

Richard and Loretta Noone were Easter dinner guests of Ralph and Alice Noone and family of Valley Center.

Vernie Konecny, Margie Stroda, Millie Vinduska, and Bud and Kenny Vinduska called on Amelia Vinduska during the week. Amelia accompanied Charlene Svitak to Holy Thursday services at Holy Family Parish Church in Marion. Amelia accompanied Bud and Rose Vinduska to Ellis Saturday and they spent the weekend with Lester and Susie Henrickson and family. They returned home Monday morning.

Amy and Tim Vogel and family and Angie and Gene Vinduska and family visited Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Vinduska Sunday morning. The Eugene Vinduskas enjoyed Easter dinner with Mary and Steve McNeil and family in Wichita.

Herman and Audry Kukuk of Perry, Okla., spent the Easter weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Gail Makovec and family. They attended Good Friday services in Tampa, then drove to Salina and enjoyed supper together. They also visited Kim Smith and new son, Braxton, at Salina Regional Medical Center. Braxton was born Tuesday morning. The Makovec family hosted Easter Sunday dinner at their home. Their guests included Jane Makovec, Allen and Rayleen Makovec and family of Newton, Jandi Makovec of McPherson, Larry Kukuk and family, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Kukuk and Noah, and their houseguests, Herman and Audry.

Jacob Leckliter of El Dorado is spending Monday and Tuesday of this week with his grandparents, Vernie and Gene Konecny.
