Pilsen: Randy Svitaks host family get-together

Randy, Kathy, and Shane Svitak hosted the annual Svitak/Bezdek family get-together at their home Sunday. Guests were Jennifer Schmidt, Marion; Damien Svitak, Jenni Stevens, and Amber Svitak, Manhattan; George and Charlene Svitak and Todd, Terry, Trent, and Taylor Svitak, Pilsen; Doug, Tammie, Brandon, and Aaron Svitak, Alex Potapov, and Greg Holub, Lincolnville; Stephanie Wangerin, Herington; Sylvia Bezdek, Lost Springs; Pam Slayden, Lehigh; Paulette Holub, Hesston; and Dan and Marcia Falen, Hope.
Sunday afternoon and supper guests of LaVada Holub were Roberta, Ron, Dustin, Justin, and Brandon McGlachlin, Amanda and Kaylyn Pontious, Serena and Derrick Eldridge, Ryan and Matthew, and Chris McGlachlin and friend Mark, all of Newton, and Tom and Sandy Holub of Tampa.
Lou and Ruby Vinduska drove to Minneapolis Thursday to visit Ruby's sister, Anna Aultom.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Richard Silhan who died Friday. The rosary was recited Monday evening and the Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Tuesday morning. Interment was in the Pilsen Cemetery.
I accompanied Gene and Vernie Konecny to McPherson Sunday where we enjoyed a Chinese dinner.
Amelia Vinduska accompanied Margaret Jirak to Marion Monday where they attended Mass, then visited with residents at Marion Manor. Calling on Amelia during the week were Toby Loveless, Ken and Bonnie Vinduska, Bud and Rose Vinduska, Margie and Emily Staatz, John and Francis Ice, Kathy Lawrence, and Art Stroda. Amelia Vinduska accompanied Ken Vinduska to Marion on Thursday.
David and Sam Oborny and family hosted a birthday supper Saturday evening for Thomas' seventh birthday. Guests included George and Kathleen Oborny and Steve and Jeannie Blue and family.
George and Kathleen Oborny attended the soup dinner at the Hope Catholic church Sunday noon.
Paul and Alice Meysing visited with George and Marge Endres Sunday afternoon.
Meggan Daniel, Fred Silhan, Staci Thurston, Staci's parents, Lou and Lori Thurston, and Terry and Kathy Silhan enjoyed dinner together Sunday at Kingfisher's Inn. Sunday supper guests of Terry and Kathy included Meggan, Fred, Staci, and Ella Winter.
Magdalen Dvorak attended funeral services for Lou Jean Nesser Wednesday morning at the Christian church in Marion.
Lucille Bernhardt, Margaret Jirak, and Magdalen Dvorak attended the annual St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary meeting Thursday evening at Eastmoor church in Marion.
Magdalen Dvorak and Margaret Jirak attended the Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting and luncheon in Hillsboro Friday. Magdalen accompanied Don, Karen, Matthew, and Kara Druse to Wichita Saturday.
Tim, Mary, Christopher, Danielle, and Stephanie Grogan of Schulte brought Sunday dinner to Emma Klenda and spent the afternoon visiting. John and Francis Ice and Kathy Lawrence visited with Emma Klenda on Thursday. They brought Emma a birthday cake.
Teresa Hill and children drove to Salina after school Thursday. The Kevin Hill family enjoyed Sunday dinner with Hazel Clothier and spent the afternoon visiting.
Joe and Jenna Tajchman attended the Eisenhower League basketball tournament in Solomon Tuesday. Jenna sustained a knee injury that night and attended the game as a spectator Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Dr. Jessica Laurin, Anna and Jordan were Saturday dinner guests of the Tajchmans and Jenna.
Terry and Cindy Vinduska and Melissa Stuchlik drove to Manhattan for the weekend. They visited with Jill and all attended the K-State basketball game. They spent Saturday night in Manhattan, returning home Sunday afternoon.
Charlene Svitak visited her mother, Lillian Krch, in El Dorado Wednesday.
Shaina and Marissa Makovec attended the Knights of Columbus free throw contest at Centre High School Sunday afternoon. After the contest, Shaina attended CYO volleyball practice at Pilsen Community Center. Sheila Makovec attended her computer class at Centre Monday evening. The Makovec family attended Centre's high school basketball game Tuesday at the Eisenhower League tournament in Solomon. They also attended the games Friday and Saturday. Simon Makovec left Saturday for Denver where he will be attending the FFA National Western Livestock Show. His return will be determined as to how the team and/or some of the members place in the judging.
Pat and Dean Bina attended the flea market Sunday at the Coliseum in Wichita. They visited Pat's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson, in Marion Monday and stopped at Marion Manor to visit Agnes Bina.
Millie Vinduska's grandson Ron Robert Collins, who is stationed in Fort Riley and friend Angie spent last Saturday with Millie and Lillie Vinduska. Ed Davies visited with Millie and Lillie Vinduska last Sunday afternoon. Millie and Lillie attended the wedding of Carol Sponsel and Kerry Rowden Saturday afternoon at St. Joseph's Church in Wichita. Carol is Millie's granddaughter. A reception and dance followed. Millie and Lillie visited the David Tharp family Saturday evening. They also went to see the Tharps' new granddaughter, Aeryn. Bob Vinduska and Laura Howard and her children, Savik and Ripley, also attended the wedding, dance, and reception.
Joe and JoAnn Nowak have a new grandson, Luke William Frasher, born Jan. 14 to Jennifer and Tim Frasher of Wichita. Luke has a brother, Elijah, and a sister, Allie, to welcome him. Thursday afternoon and supper guests of the Nowaks were Joe's cousins, Mary Ann Grimms and Ray and Jeanie Zrodizal of Boscobel, Wis. JoAnn was a Sunday evening supper guest of Judy and Kevin Steinborn and daughters in Marion. Joe returned home Sunday from a fishing trip to Texoma Lake. No information yet as to the date of the fish fry!
