Pilsen: Waners enjoy German food at Woodbine cafe

George and Patsy Waner accompanied Robert and Shirley Mans to Brigitte's Country Cafe in Woodbine where they enjoyed German food for Sunday dinner. Patsy substituted at Marion High School on Wednesday and Thursday.
Magdalen Dvorak and I had dinner together Tuesday in Durham.
Geoff and Meggan Daniel of Wichita visited with Terry and Kathy Silhan Saturday. They had lunch together.
Robert and Karen Konarik, Rob and Jen Craft, and Stanley Konarik drove to Manhattan Saturday to help Marie celebrate her 21st birthday.
Robert and Karen Konarik drove to Wichita Monday and met Karen's mother, LaDonna Kirkendall of Cloverdale, Ohio. LaDonna will be spending a few weeks with the Konariks.
Joni, Stacy, and Ashley Smith of Overland Park came Friday evening and were overnight guests of Edmund and Mary Lou Kroupa. The Smiths went to a gymnastic meet in Wichita Saturday in which Ashley was a participant.
Emma, Dustin, and Dwight Davidson of Hope visited Irene Tajchman Saturday evening.
Randy and Kathy Svitak went to Wichita on a business weekend and also to celebrate their 27th wedding anniversary. Kathy attended a layette shower Sunday honoring Jennifer Silhan at the home of Anita Svoboda.
Mrs. John Goentzel, Elizabeth and Daniel left for Tipton Sunday morning and visited with Marlene's mother, Mary Pfeiffer. Marlene and Elizabeth attended a shower Saturday afternoon for Marlene's niece, Mary Reid. Later they drove to Hays to watch another niece play basketball for Fort Hays University. They convinced Keith to go with them to the game. They spent some time visiting with Keith before returning home.
Karen Konarik attended the layette shower Sunday at the home of Anita Svoboda honoring Jennifer Silhan.
You can believe it!!! We had a great turnout Sunday afternoon of parishioners helping with the un-decorating of our church. Thanks everyone for your help.
Terry Vinduska attended the U.S. Grains Council meeting in Washington, D.C., Sunday through Tuesday. He attended the Kansas Corn Commission meeting in Manhattan on Thursday and Friday. He met Jill, who is a student at K-State, for dinner Thursday evening.
Cindy and Terry Vinduska accompanied CYO members to St. Anthony Church in Wichita Sunday to attend a Latin Mass. Youth attending were Amanda and Andrea Kleiber, Dana Depo, Raschelle Jirak, Alisa Fernandez, and Nicole Nelson.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nowak drove to Remington Thursday to watch Jordan Nowak wrestle.
Sister Alice Klenda of Wichita, Ted Klenda and his daughter Mary Roemer, both of Tulsa, Evelyn Grogan of Winfield, Bill and Norma Urbanek of Newton, and Emma Klenda enjoyed dinner together at Tabor College in Hillsboro. The group was celebrating Emma Klenda's birthday.
Harvest House had its monthly meeting and potluck luncheon in Pilsen Friday in the church dining room. Coffee and rolls were served at 9 a.m. Father Steve Gronert offered Mass at 10 a.m. Those attending included Amelia Vinduska, Alice Meysing, Ruby Holub, Irma Reznicek, Sister Alice Klenda, Emma Klenda, Evelyn Grogan, Magdalen Dvorak, Agnes Bina, and Margaret Jirak.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Silhan drove to Topeka Saturday and were houseguests of Nancy and Patrick McCaffrey and children. The Silhans and McCaffreys attended a sport show at Kemper Arena in Kansas City on Sunday.
Kathy Silhan, Vernie Konecny, Greg Spachek, Margie Stroda, Ken Vinduska and Margaret Jirak called on Amelia Vinduska during the week. Amelia Vinduska accompanied Margaret Jirak to Mass in Marion Monday. In the afternoon she accompanied Margie Stroda to Lost Springs.
Dr. Eugene and Verna Vinduska spent a day of fun and games in Topeka Tuesday. They were overnight guests of Karen and Jeff Thompson and daughter of Ozwakie and spent Wednesday with them. Dr. Gerald Vinduska and sons were Sunday dinner and afternoon guests of Eugene and Verna.
George and Kathleen Oborny and Mr. and Mrs. David Oborny and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Val Klenda and family.
Carole Sklenar picked up Dodie Phinney and the "girls" drove to Wichita Saturday morning. They stopped in Newton to visit Yvonne Schroeder. Dodie and Glenn were Saturday supper guests of the Sklenars. Darla Kasper and Kevin Searle were Sunday afternoon guests of the Sklenars. Carole attended the shower Sunday honoring Jennifer Silhan.
Sylvia Bezdek visited the Dan Falens on Sunday. She accompanied Lucille Bernhardt to Newton Monday.
Shaina, Simon, and Gail Makovec attended a basketball at Tabor College Thursday night. Simon went especially to see his friend Grant Garrard play. Shaina attended CYO volleyball practice Sunday afternoon at the Pilsen Community Center. Friday and Saturday were "moving days" at the Makovec home. The family was helping Simon move to Salina where he will be attending K-State-Salina.
