Police break routine with Christmas Eve meal delivery

On Christmas Eve, Marion police officers delivered a meal to a family in town. The meal was donated by an individual and taken to the police department for the family.

Dec. 20: An officer responded to a 911 hang-up in the 200 block of North Third Street and made contact with juveniles who were playing with a pay phone. A second 911 hang-up was investigated at Casey's General Store. A juvenile was attempting to contact his parents. An officer contacted the parents for child.

Tuesday: Follow-up investigations were conducted regarding complaints of junk vehicles. A dog running at-large was caught in the 700 block of Hudson Street.

Wednesday: An injury accident in the 100 block of South Roosevelt Street was investigated.

Thursday: Officers responded to and assisted with an unresponsive subject in the 100 block of Elm Street. Assistance was provided to Wichita Police Department regarding a child exploitation investigation. A child custody dispute required assistance from officers at Marion Elementary School. A warning was issued for a dog running at-large in the 400 block of South Cedar Street.

Friday: Inspections of vehicle identification numbers were conducted. An officer investigated a report of broken glass in a driveway in the 300 block of South Coble Street.

Saturday: A warning was issued for a dog running at-large in the 300 block of North Freeborn Street. An opened door on a vehicle was discovered and an officer made contact with the owner. A warning was issued for exhibition of speed.

Sunday: In three separate incidents, warnings were issued for failure to yield right-of-way, defective muffler, and improper display of vehicle registration.

Officers drove 693 miles and issued seven warning citations.
