Police chief attends training session
Marion Police Chief David Mayfield attended a week-long training session recently on administration.
Mayfield told city commissioners May 28 that the session was so valuable he intends to send other officers if the training is offered again.
Best of all, it was free. The Colby Police Department offered the training and covered all expenses. The department received millions of dollars in a drug forfeiture case, and the training was funded by that money, Mayfield said.
Mayfield added that investigations on child sexual abuse cases have been completed and the matter turned over to the county attorney for filing of charges.
