Rachel and Drew Thalmann married
Rachel Janzen of Newton and Drew Thalmann of Haven were united in marriage June 26, 2004, at Hesston Inter-Mennonite Church in Hesston. Pastor Scott Miller officiated in the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Steve and Phoebe Janzen of Florence and Lynn and Stephanie Thalmann of Haven.
Grandparents are Earl and Lucy Janzen of Peabody, Jack and Margie Heyman of Springfield, Mo., Wayne and Jackie Carstenson of Newton, Betty Thalmann of Haven, and Virgil and Helen McCreary of Wellington.
The bride wore a strapless white gown and carried a bouquet of red roses, red gerber daisies, white mini-daisies, blue delphinium, yellow daisies, and ivy.
Amanda Denton, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Polly Helling of Oologah, Okla., Andrea Hansen, cousin of the bride, of Hays, and Sherry Thalmann, sister of the groom, of Kansas City, Mo. Bridesmaids wore red spaghetti-strap, floor-length dresses and carried a smaller bouquet with the bride's flowers.
Matt Voth was the best man. Groomsmen were Pat Lynch of Cheney, Stan Dohm of Wichita, and Jon Rich of Manhattan.
Vocalists were Steven Janzen, brother of the bride, and Polly Helling. Pianist was Amy Case, cousin of the groom.
Ushers were Ross Foley, Greg Lehr, Jason Nugent, Steven Janzen, and Brett Fowler. Guest book attendants were Renae Peters and Bria Lehr. The bride's personal attendants were Amy Zeller, sister of the bride, and Carol Budde.
Reception attendants were all aunts of the bride and groom. They were Carol Thalmann, Tara Estes, Lynette Riley, Kelly Case, Nanette Mueller, and Karen Ewy. A reception and dance in McPherson followed the ceremony.
The couple took a honeymoon cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, in addition to other locations. The couple is at home in Haven.
The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and Bethel College. She teaches English at Santa Fe Middle School in Newton.
The groom is a graduate of Cheney High School and Kansas State University. He is employed by Haven Coop and Thalmann Farms.
