Ralph Dunn

Ralph D. Dunn, 83, died March 31, 2006, at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community, Lawrence.

Born Aug. 28, 1922, at Marion, he was the son of Clyde and Fern (Pollitt) Dunn.

He graduated from Marion High School in 1941, and later attended the University of Kansas.

He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces during World War II, and was stationed in Paris, France, and Lynz, Austria.

Dunn was a milkman for Chamney Dairy for five years and later worked for Decker-Coy Real Estae. He then opened Dunn Real Estate and retired in 1979 after 10 years.

On Sept. 24, 1949, he married Jean Campbell at Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Dunn.

Survivors include his wife, Jean of Lawrence; two sons, Dana Dunn of Overland Park and Dallas Dunn of Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Lynn Dunn of Eugene, Ore.; two brothers, Bill Dunn of Valley Center and Max Dunn of Santa Cruz, N.M.; sister, Ruth Spinden of Wellington, Colo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence.

A private family burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.

Memorial funds have been established with Heart of America Hospice or Trinity Lutheran Church, Lawrence.
