Ralph Ewert
Ralph A. Ewert, 92, retired farmer and electrician in the Peabody area, died July 20, 2002, at Marion.
He was born Sept. 29, 1909, at Aulne, son of the late Bert and Anna (Welsh) Ewert. The family moved to a farm west of Peabody in 1918. He attended Williams and Bond rural schools and graduated from Peabody High School.
His wife, Una (Golden) Ewert, died in 1996. They were married Jan. 15, 1937, at Kansas City, Mo.
He also was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Jean Ewert; and brothers Harold and John.
Survivors include his daughter, Jane Ewert of Hutchinson; sisters Edna Ewert and Laura Slocombe, both of Peabody.
Graveside services were held Tuesday morning with burial in Prairie Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. David Randall of Peabody United Methodist Church officiated.
A memorial fund has been established with Legacy Park at Peabody, and one at Disability Supports of the Great Plains at McPherson.
