It's here! Christmas! Religious services, parties, gift exchanges, Christmas cards, and letters are just wonderful.
One of my friends (out of town) said that all she wants for Christmas is electricity! I think she has done without power for a week or more. I was lucky, the power was out just a few hours. I was getting nervous, though!
Do you see the commercial on TV using that old fable, the tortoise and the hare? Anyway, I feel so sorry for the tortoise. His legs are so awkward and unwieldy he can hardly move. We have been having a real old-fashioned winter and I saw some kids carrying their sleds toward Elm Street Hill. The city used to close that hill off — just for the kids to use.
I feel so guilty. My family and friends are showering me with gifts. I was unable to shop or make cookies. Maybe I have done my share in the past, but that doesn't make me feel any better.
I do love the cards and letters. I can send those. Merry Christmas!
