Shoes! Women love shoes. The fancier they are the better they are liked. Oprah had a whole program on them. They were beaded, strapless, toeless, heel-less, and all had very high heels. We are told that high heels and pointed toes will ruin our feet, but we are just like those Chinese women who used to bind their feet.
I have two pairs stored in a closet that I don't wear anymore. One pair in pale pink leather with high heels. The other pair is red suede with black trim. I took them to Europe with me and felt very dressed up when I wore them. Remember that queen in the Philippines who had hundreds of shoes? I bet every woman who reads this has a special pair she can't bear to discard. Come now, confess!
I often wonder why girls and women wear those athletic-type shoes. I know they are comfortable, but look clumsy.
There are so many kinds now. Boots are popular, flip-flops and others, too.
Oh I forgot the duck-toes. I guess a whole book could be written about the history of shoes.
Speaking of clothes you can't part with, how about hats? I'll bet every woman has a hat she can't part with.
I guess this turned out to be a head-to-toe article. I'd like to hear some of your stories.
