Random Thoughts

I have never had this happen to me before, but maybe you have. I have been receiving an avalanche of magazines which I did not order. Finally, I decided that recently I had ordered a book from a college, handled by an outside company. What a sneaky way to send magazines. I don't want them; at least I don't want to pay for them. I've been busy calling or writing to the companies telling them to cease and desist. One magazine was the National Geographic, a fine magazine. It is full of articles about tribes, strange animals, and worms. Oh yes, and health. This information upsets me. Of course, my preacher did tell me that I need to get upset once in awhile or I'll just stay in a comfortable rut. Oh dear!

However I think I'll just stay with the mundane information. I just read about a man whose pants caught on fire in a pocket that contained a cell phone. It wasn't mundane to him, it was really serious. Remember an old saying about "pants on fire?"

I'm reading a book about some families who settled in Nicodemus, Kan. I guess it is the only town settled by all black people.

Many of the people were former slaves or at least their parents were. Different and pretty interesting.

My afternoon snack consists of a mug of hot chocolate. It supposedly is an Austrian product. Very good. I top it with marshmallows. I had forgotten how good it is. It should be listed in the comfort-food category. Try it!
