Random thoughts

A few days ago I had a visit from a woman who grew up in Marion, who with her husband from Iraq, lived in that country several years. This past week my son, Bud got word that an English lady wanted to come to Marion to check relatives, the Hannafords, who originally came from England.

So she did come. A friend from Missouri brought her. They were both teachers. They became acquainted through an exchange student organization. The lady, Julie Taylor had letters and pictures of the English Hannafords who were relatives of the Marion Hannafords so there is a relationship.

Both ladies were charming and interesting. Of course, lots of questions flew back and forth. They had made reservations at Country Dreams Bed and Breakfast, so stayed there. Bud and Lavonne and I had all been to Widdecombe on the Moors and Julie came from that area.

Really very exciting. How wonderful life is full of exciting surprises. I wonder who will be coming next? Well, my great-grandson Ken Burk and his friend Meredith Wardwell just came from Colorado, so fun! You know, I have nine handsome great-grandsons. I hope they all come. I'll just turn the cooking over to them and enjoy their visits. The welcome sign is out!
