Birthdays are important. Do you ever wonder why you were born in a certain place, in a certain month, day, or hour? April is my month. Flowers, sunshine, and April in Paris (snow, too!). Ten is my date, a special number. Not too early, not too late. Just right. Then you wonder why? What dreams do I have? What can I accomplish? What if I was born in Cambodia of a different race with different parents?
Did you know Kansas is a beautiful jewel, set right in the center between Nebraska on the north, Missouri on the east, Oklahoma on the south, and Colorado on the west? All those states are advertising as great tourist attractions. What can we do? I say, promote the Wizard of Oz. What is better than brains, a heart, courage, and a love of home. Basic stuff.
I have finished the book about Queen Victoria. She reigned during our Civil War. England favored the Confederates, mainly because of trade in cotton. It is really a great love story between the queen and her husband, Prince Albert.
I'm enjoying my daughter from Colorado. She should be feeling right at home with the Easter snow. Crowson had a cute cartoon in the Wichita Eagle. It was about Peter Rabbit saying where to hang the "Easter" stocking.
Well, I'm off to a big family gathering to be held at my granddaughter's home near McPherson. You know it is to celebrate that April 10 birthday of that 103-year-old woman.
I hope you all had a happy Easter and a reminder of Christmas!
