I didn't think it would happen, but it did. April 10 did come and that meant that I was 104 years old. How does that make me feel? I really don't feel any different than I did on the 9th.
I do know that many friends and relatives sent beautiful cards, flowers, and telephone calls. I'm sure if I were a modern electronics person I would have a pile of e-mail messages. I'm so grateful to you all, I thank you, thank you, and thank you! Even Hector sang to me. The song "Happy Birthday" sounds wonderful sung in Spanish. Hector is the owner of the popular Mexican restaurant downtown.
My sister, Marge and her husband Don from Arizona joined my children in making it a big, fun day. The party isn't over yet. My grandchildren are hosting a big get-together at my granddaughter Kathy's and Bobby's nice home near McPherson Saturday. I will be the oldest and little Luke Kerns will be the youngest. He is a few weeks old. Hugs and kisses will be all over the place.
So, now I'm looking for 105. It will be an interesting year. I wonder what will happen? Will we be out of Iraq? What will happen in China and Russia? Who will be our president? What about health problems? Will we be in a depression? I guess we will have to wait for answers. Just hope things will be for the best in our beloved country and in the world.
