Random Thoughts
Today, Friday, June 11, I have spent the entire morning watching the Ronald Reagan funeral service on TV. What a gathering of dignitaries in one place. Seated in the Washington National Cathedral, I saw all the past presidents and their wives, the Carters, the Fords, the Bushes, and the Clintons.
Then there was Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, Prince Charles, Gorbachev, and many others. Several gave wonderful eulogies. I thought President George W. Bush spoke so well of Ronald Reagan. Of course, Nancy Reagan and her family were there. It must have been a stressful but proud time for her.
I attended church at the Washington National Cathedral once, so felt a connection of some sort.
My sister, Marge and husband Don, of Green Valley, Ariz., have been here for a few days. They left today and I'm going to be lonesome. We had wonderful cool weather for them.
I'm a Martha Stewart fan and if you are I wish you would write a card to CBS-TV and beg them to keep her program on the air. She has such a wonderful program it would be a shame to lose it.
She made a mistake but I'm hoping a judge will declare a wrongful verdict and let her off with a fine or civic duties. There is so much "junk" on TV, let's keep a really good program on the air. She is not an O.J. Simpson, you know. I guess you can see how I feel!
