Random Thoughts

There is romance in the air. I got to attend the wedding of my little great-granddaughter, Jennifer in McPherson Saturday. Of course, the bride looked beautiful in her snow white wedding dress with veil flowing from her high-piled hair. The flowers were beautiful and the church was decorated very suitably for the occasion.

To carry on in the romantic atmosphere, the pretty pink flamingo that ran off months ago from the Wichita zoo appeared in Louisiana. She had a friend with her and seems very happy. The zoo doesn't plan to capture her. Besides being a difficult task, it might upset the bird, especially to lose her companion. Two birds escaped the zoo. One has never been sighted.

October is a month to enjoy. If I could only write poetry, there would be so much beauty to praise. I can barely remember a poem I learned in grade school, something about frost on the pumpkin and apple trees with limbs touching the ground. I wish I could really recall it.

We have lost another dear lady, Eleanor Zerger. She was quiet and friendly. When she tackled a project, you knew it would be well done to the finish.

They say the good die young. What is that telling me? I'm beginning to wonder.

My daughter, Wanda of Colorado Springs is spending some time with me. Meal planning is our main endeavor. I buy the groceries and she is supposed to cook them. So far I have no complaints. Wish I could just keep her but I know she wants more out of life than just being "bossed" around by her elderly mother.
