I hate to leave the book, "Madam Chiang Kai-Shek." She was such a fascinating person. She was hated by many, yet adored by many. She lived to the age of 104. In the book, she was listed with three other women of international prominence, Walli Simpson, who caused a king to give up his throne, Queen Elizabeth II, who was involved in the life and death of Princess Diana, and Corazon Aquinas, the dictator of the Philippines (remember all her shoes?). Our lady had dealings with FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, and George W. Bush, besides other outstanding Americans, like Henry Luce, owner of Time and Life magazines.
Did you know that the pictures of your family are really your family history? If you are like me you have gobs of pictures. I hope you name the people in the pictures and put the dates on the backs.
Now, pictures can be taken by digital cameras that show you the picture right away. Then if you have a printer you can print them immediately. Some of the old ones can give you a good laugh. Strange clothes, hair-dos, and car styles. All done in respect and love. Every once in a while, Dagwood of the comics shows a family album to his son and tries to explain them. Usually funny.
