Do you remember this verse? "I went to the animal fair, the birds and beasts were there. The old baboon by the light of the moon, was combing his auburn hair. The monkey, he got drunk and fell on the elephant's trunk. The elephant sneezed and fell down on his knees. What became of the monkey, monk, monkey, monk?" It was quite popular during my teenage years.

Did you read about the cat that somehow found itself high above Wichita traffic in the Kellogg flyover? Some motorist saw it and notified the animal control people. They called for help from the city police. The police sent a helicopter and rescued the cat.

I wonder if he felt like I did when I went up in the St. Louis Arch and when we stopped at the top, we looked out those little narrow windows at the scene below. The big tall buildings looked like tiny toys. I thought, what am I doing?

Everyone should have a hobby, especially after they retire. There are people who willingly spend thousands of dollars adding to their special collections. When the Hartkes lived here and had a store downtown, they had their big collection of sheet music, Golden Books, handkerchiefs, post cards, and I know there were others.

Some people collect angels. I once collected small bells.

I watch the antique show on KPTS and such collections as old comic books are valuable. Makes you mad because you threw a lot of good ones away.
