What a time we live in! 9/11 has come but never will be gone. I think Marion should set aside a minute to mourn that awful tragedy. I remember after World War I we were asked to stop whatever we were doing on that anniversary and think of those people who had lost their lives in the war. It was to be at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11.
I was in the big Innes store in Wichita. Every clerk and every customer stopped to bow their heads for one minute at that time. Very impressive.
Art in the Park will be over and the football games will be over. September is going so fast.
Maybe the monarch butterflies have already been here on their way from Canada to Mexico. What remarkable creatures they are to be able to fly all that distance with their beautiful, fragile wings.
Here is a question I saw in a newspaper. What invention would you like to see in your lifetime? One person said she would like a machine that produces food just by your wish. One wanted something that would consolidate your car keys, telephone, wallet, and your Ipod all in one.
Martha Stewart wanted an individual airplane for everyone. I would like that. How about you?
I liked that Steve Irwin who handled crocodiles and other wild animals. He was so full of enthusiasm and seemed to enjoy his work. Australia has lost a good PR man.
The world is full of interesting things, creatures, and people.
